The Purdue vs. IU rivalry is one of the most classic and
historic rivalries in all of collegiate sports. The rivalry dates back to March
2, 1901 and both teams have battled it out at least once a year since then. Up
until 2001, they would normally meet twice a year. Fortunately, Purdue is
leading the all-time series 113-88. Also, both of these schools have won more
Big Ten Conference Titles than any other Big Ten members. Purdue is leading
with 22 titles. This season, the rivalry game will be played at Mackey Arena,
which is known to be one of the loudest stadiums in the country because of the
dome architecture. Mackey is a blast and the students go crazy, especially for
this rivalry game. You’ll definitely want to be here to see what this young
Purdue team is capable of doing against our rivals. You won’t want to miss our new
7’2” freshman, Isaac Haas, dominate the boards and our star shooter, Kendall
Stephens, drop threes all game. I recommend getting there early to get a seat,
as this will be the most crowded game of the year. The game is set to be played
on January 28, 2015 in Mackey Arena, so make sure not to miss it. Lastly, make
sure to wear your Purdue black and be prepared to be loud all game. This is one
of the greatest events that Purdue has to offer so get pumped and start
counting down the days. Go Boilers and let’s add on to our all-time series
record!
