Sledding Down Slayter Hill

When the brutal, Midwest winter comes around, most sane people will stay inside where it is warm and boring. Only a crazy, college kid would partake in the activity that I am about to describe; sledding down Slayter Hill. The first thing that I am doing when snow starts to fall, is finding something that can be used as a sled, and running to Slayter Hill. But before you set off on this adventure, I have a few recommendations. First, I highly advise you all to bundle up, as snow on bare skin is not pleasant. Definitely wear a winter jacket, gloves, a hat, and boots. And if by slim chance you somehow remembered to pack snow pants, then bring those as well. Next, you need to make sure that you have friends to come with. What fun is sledding if there is no one there to witness you crashing face first into the snow? Plus, this is a fun experience, and you need to have people to laugh your butt’s off with. Lastly, you are going to need a sled. There are many ways to approach this last step. If you have money, then go by a nice sled at Walwart. But since you are all broke, college kids, this isn’t an option. Instead, find anything that is flat and would slide well on snow. This could be anything from cardboard boxes to your old text books from the class you just failed. Personally, I prefer the garbage can lid. I believe that it provides a big enough seat and also gives you the fastest ride down the hill. You are now ready to have great time and check off a great experience from your Purdue Bucket List.
